Royal Visit

Almost ten years to the day since his last visit, HRH The Prince of Wales arrived at Shobdon Church on a very wet Friday in January to see the completed restoration work that had been carried out.

The visit gave us the opportunity to thank all involved in enabling this restoration project to be completed. We tried to invite as many people as possible including those who had worked on the building, those who had donated to the cause and those who faithfully week by week have gathered for worship. Despite the torrential rain, children from Shobdon school lined the route on his departure. They were richly rewarded as Prince Charles spoke to many of them before they were whisked back into the dry to await some transport back to school.

Shobdon Church has been renewed and now all we have to do is look after it and use it. You can get a sense of the beauty of the church when visiting but to experience it at its best you need to come during a time of worship. We have a church unlike any other- come and see! You would be made most welcome.
